2004–2016

When I entered Emily Carr University in 2002, I initially intended to study interdisciplinary media, focusing on video, photography, installation, and sound. I soon found my way to Communications Design, where I developed a foundation in composition, typography, image-making, and visual communication. Design gave me a way of thinking about images, form, composition, and communication that continues to shape how I work.

By 2016, after more than a decade of pursuing design as a career, I realized that it was no longer a viable professional path for me. A number of circumstances contributed to this, and I ultimately made the difficult decision to let design go and turn my attention toward developing my work as an artist.
