Here talk about your process, how you approach making the sound experiments and working with this other self. Acknowledge it as an experiential tool for yourself in the development of your next practice. I use the studio as a space for experimentation, allowing sounds to be shaped, distorted, layered, looped, and reworked through the physical interaction of the equipment. The tools are not simply means of recording an idea; they are part of the process of discovering what the work can become. The equipment listed here represents the current studio setup used in making these sound and video works, and may change as the practice develops.

I edit and mix the sound pieces in Logic Pro, working with a maximum of eight tracks. I do not use effects or effect automation within the DAW (digital audio workstation). All effects are created using the physical equipment in the studio and are manually performed and manipulated in real time as I work through the sequencer or sing. The changes in effects, processing, and texture that occur throughout each piece are therefore the result of a live (then editied) physical performance during the recording process, rather than automation added afterward in Logic Pro.

The only effects / fix in the DAW are EQ and some compression on the master track.
